This report which identifies the priority infrastructure sites in Auckland that need to be given priority for recovery during emergency / disaster response. The purpose of this is to ensure that recovery priorities are directed in areas that will ensure essential or emergency services are operational as soon as practicable. This project aimed to identify network areas where numerous services were co-located and assess the vulnerability of each site to hazards such as third party disruption, earthquakes, slips, and floods. The report is available to AELG members in the Members Area.
This 5 year project developed hazard information on 4 key hazards in the Auckland region (volcano, tsunami, cyclone and earthquake) and assessed the vulnerability of lifeline services to damage from these hazards. The study also investigated the interdependencies between the lifeline services, identifies practical strategies for reducing risk, and helped project participants identify and implement mitigation and response strategies for their own networks.
